fps #9 Is Out and It's Hot

The ninth issue of fps explores sex in animation: Read about Danish animator Liller Møller's trio of frank and funny sex-education films from the 1980s that are regularly screened in schools throughout Scandinavia, find out about Japan's various approaches to adult animation, and more. And in this issue's Hip List our contributors confess as to who they consider animation's sexiest characters.

Of course, we have our regular content as well. Festival Watch covers the SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival, and you'll find over a dozen of our top-notch reviews of DVDs (including the new edition of Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro and the tragic, semi-autobiographical Barefoot Gen), and books (including Amid Amidi's acclaimed Cartoon Modern: Style and Design in Fifties Animation).

One note: There are some images in this issue that may not be appropriate for all ages or sensibilities. Since we don't want anyone to miss out on this issue's great writing, we've taken the step of producing two editions of the magazine: one with the original, stronger imagery, and another with alternate or partially blurred images. The text is identical in both editions.
