The Straight Goods has a story on the CanWest contract that neatly spells out the issues I brought up earlier. It also touches on an important point: Thanks to high-profile situations with Disney, Microsoft, the RIAA, et al, when the average person hears "copyright" they think of "money-grubbing corporation." In fact, during a discussion about copyright on a mailing list several months ago, one person linked it with "today's anti-creative, anti-individual, pro-big-business, pro-government environment".
And yet another struggle continues.
And yet another struggle continues.
